Water Pollution occurs when harmful toxins enter bodies of water causing the water to become toxic to all forms of life. Because water is a solvent, it can dissolve many toxins and therefore become contaminated. When toxic water runs off and comes in contact with dry lands, the water can posion the land and destroy habitats.

There are so many different causes of water pollution it's hard to list all of them. The ones that are directly caused by human beings are plastic materials contaminating the water, burning of fossil fuels, fertilizers and pesticides polluting the water,and oil spills.
Water Pollution continues to harm all living things. Not only does it destroy the habiats of plants and marine animals but overtime the water that we use everyday will become toxic. Every year unsafe water kills people. The heavy metals that are in our bodies of water can cause birth defects and can cause acute posioning. Water pollution is dangerous to every single person.
